1. virginia tech shootings: horrific, so sad i feel silences. and then the mind jumps to questions, wanting to assign blame, and not wanting to overlook the obvious. r.i.p to those in their dorms and in their classrooms, just trying to grow. and to the suicide bomber, from this land is my land to this land is your land, rest in peace. and let us all be gentle with ourselves always.
2. there’s this catholic school in a mexico where young brown women from the mountains are sickening en masse. nausea, fever, barely enough strength to walk. paper says the cause is mass psychological hysteria. yeah fucking right. a school for girls, a first world campus with a swimming pool, olympic size gymnasium in the midst of slums, and all the girls have to pay is atrocioulsy low contact with their families and culture. i aint lying y’all, this school is stricter than a couple of my cousin-sister’s in-laws. the young women at this school can’t go back home for nothing, unless its on christmas and a stingy handlful of other holidays. no phone calls. what?? the formula is making the young women physically ill, and no one is listening to the parents when they say, maybe if you would just let us talk to them?
